About Germanwings
Germanwings is a low-cost airline, based in Cologne which is wholly owned by the Lufthansa Group. The airline was founded in
1997 as a division of Eurowings and started operating as a separate airline from 2002. It flies to around 865 destinations from its hub at the Cologne
Bonn Airport and has other operating bases at Berlin Tegel Airport, Dortmund Airport, Hamburg Airport, Hannover Airport, Stuttgart Airport and Dussledorf
Airport. From October 2015, Eurowings will take over 55 routes operated under the Germanwings brand.
